Rates: Crafts
The Rates tab lists the hourly rates for the craft. These rates are used to calculate labor costs on work orders, unless charge rates have been defined.
The following fields are displayed on the Rates tab:
-
Hourly Pay Rates: The hourly and overtime pay rates for the craft. An additional field to enter an additional rate is also provided. For example, the additional rate may be used for holiday pay.
The rates entered for these three fields are used to determine labor costs on work orders with crafts defined for estimated / actual labor, unless charge rates are defined.
As hours are entered on the work order or retrieved from a procedure/preventive maintenance schedule, labor costs are calculated by multiplying the designated hours by the defined rate. In each part of the system where labor hours can be defined, fields for each of the available three rates is provided.
-
Charge Rates: Fields used to enter a charge rate or markup to be used in calculating labor costs.
-
If there is a markup defined, the charge rate for labor costs is calculated by determining total labor cost (hourly rate x hours) and applying the markup percent.
-
If there is a charge rate defined, the charge rate for labor costs is calculated by multiplying the total hours defined by the charge rate.
The actual craft hourly rates are not used in this calculation.
-
If there is both a charge rate and markup defined, the charge rate will be used in the calculation.
-
If there is no markup or charge rate defined, the charge calculated for labor costs will be the same as the cost.
